(Video) IXION Windowless Jet Concept

Prepare for takeoff

Technicon Design France has been shortlisted for the IY&A Awards 2014 for this incredible Windowless Jet Concept. The Awards will be held in London in May 2014.

This concept has really taken my breath away. In fact, I’m surprised that someone had not developed it sooner. But then again, that is the sign of a great idea.

This is just marvellous. We wish Technicon Design best of luck. And I for one am looking forward to one day witnessing a real life application of it.

Vector Video: World of Motion – Colin Hesterly

World Of Motion from Colin Hesterly on Vimeo.

Colin Hesterly has crafted this elegant little montage of movement. My only critisism is that it is too short. I wanted it to go on forever.
Excellent audio design and a charming style that showcases his ability to tell stories with the least amount of information.

Roadside – Vector illustration by Michael Darque

Here’s a great illustration by Michael Darque. This is a really skilled execution of a rig hauling sheets of lumber. You can see by the way he has captured the light reflecting off of the chrome, that this guy knows what he’s doing. He has also capped it off by stroking the rig in blue which makes it feel rendered and not photographic. We like that.

This attempt has a roughness that works. Nice job.

IGOR TKAC – Vector Ship Concept

Denver, Colorado

We stumbled upon this magnificent vector illustration by Igor Tkac. He has owned his own t-shirt shop for eleven years now in the Buckingham Square mall in Denver Colorado. He has also been doing freelance motion graphic and illustration work for over 5 years now.

This illustration was drafted at 180 inches wide and 120 inches high, it combines a total of 2,650 shapes and took around 200 hours to build. He used CorelDRAW X3 to illustrate this in a vector format. This project was so well thought out that it looks like it would really fly. Well done Igor.

Igor also has a great motion graphics page that you can view here.
