Logorama (2009) – Vector Short Film
Logorama is an Oscar-nominated short film by François Alaux and Herve de Crecy where logos have taken on a whole new personality. This is a fantastic little story with some adult language (you have been warned).
Hope that you dig this as much as I do:

Vector Illustrator Mesh Car by Gregory VanDenBerg
Using only the Mesh, and the rudimentary 3D tools in Adobe Illustrator CS3, Gregory VanDenBerg has created a stunning vector illustration of a concept car. Check out this video displaying it’s final reveal. Wow:
There are certainly several 3d applications out there. Even though the limited range of dimensional tools don’t give you allot of power, you can see that in the right hands, it can do marvellous things.
Check out these vector cars.
VECTOR VIDEO: Ginger et Luna – Arthur Depins
Paris, France -
Arthur Depins is a genius. Plain and simple, his illustrations are so human and filled with subtle expression. I cannot begin to tell you just how amazing this guy’s portfolio is. He offers a series of sexy/cute posters, and several artbooks that showcase his infectious illustration style. Get to know Arthur and his work.
Still not sold? Here are some Free Wallpapers that should set you straight.
He also works on some incredible animations. Here is one of my personal favs: Ginger et Luna:
Here is another animation that I just love. You can see that Arthur is a student of human subtlety. His characters are really alive. Even the ones that are not animated.

Vector Video: This American Life by Chris Ware
Chris Ware has developed this charming little animation set in an elementary school. It has a really cute story line and the character design is very easy on the eyes. I really enjoyed the narration as well. I hope that you dig it too.

First Blood – Vector animation
One of my all time favourite movies is “First Blood” (Starring Sir Sylvester Stallone). This movie was such a smash that it spawned 3 more (all dreadful and violent war flicks). Once again, Hollywood took something that was good and beat it into the ground until it became a pop culture joke.
Unlike the Rambo movies that followed it, first blood was an action adventure movie that turned the focus on the veterans who returned from Vietnam. It’s one man against the odds and has a very powerful ending.
If it’s been a while, watch it again. It’s a solid flick. If you do not have time to relive it, then simply watch this vector animation that summarized the entire movie in 33 seconds:
Vector Tutorial – iPhone icons (VIDEO)
Tutvid offer an excellent range of tutorials for a wide range of vector projects. This one is no exception. Here you can follow along with an easy step by step tutorial on creating vector iPhone icons with Adobe Illustrator. With mobile media on the rise, it’s important to start thinking about designing for the small screen whenever you can. This is a useful lesson. It’s long, but worth it.

Beatles Rockband Intro Animation – VIDEO
Unless you’ve been living under a rock fro the past 50 years, you know that The Beatles are one of the most influential rock bands in the world. Even today, their music seems to strike a chord worldwide. So it’s no wonder that it was not long before the video game world took notice. This year, The Beatles: Rock Band promises to re-define the music/game genre by setting their sights on a wide demographic.
In order to make a play for would-be-fans, the animations have been taken to the next level. Apart from a loving tribute to a landmark act, Harmonix’s singularly-focused rhythm game The Beatles: Rock Band is just as significant a work for being what is essentially gaming’s first, best interactive documentary.

Tracing the band’s rise and rise from their inauspicious Cavern Club beginnings to the Apple Corps rooftop finale, TB:RB offers a look inside the life of the band both overt (see: the traces and ephemeral snippets in the form of unlockable photos and fan club merch) and covert (see, here: the difficulty-arc-dip from their early, more technical work — a band with something to prove — to the remarkably simple bliss-outs as they move into their, er, higher, altered states).
But possibly its most remarkable achievement is the art and motion graphics that went in to the game, from Passion Pictures’ eye-searingly gorgeous intro and outro videos, aided by Alberto Mielgo’s concepts (at top), and the ‘Kid Stays in the Picture’-esque interstitials by Kansas City, MO’s MK12.
Below the fold, then: the best of all the above in a high-res gallery, giving you everything but the game.
The intro and outro videos directed by Pete Candeland (the Passion Pictures producer best known for his work animating The Gorillaz) remain the highlight of the entire TB:RB experience, as becomes instantly clear with a quick view of the following.

Behold, the birth of vector art – Sketchpad (1963)
Ivan Sutherland’s Sketchpad is one of most influencial programs in the history of graphical user interfaces. Sutherland developed Sketchpad in 1963. That’s over 46 years ago. It’s hard to believe that something so sophisticated has been around so long.
Autocad, Freehand, and Adobe Illustrator (my weapon of choice) all seem to share similar qualities. It’s amazing how many vector based applications follow in the footsteps of Sketchpad.
This video illustrates the simplicity and logic behind the program. This is defenitely the great grandfather of the Wacom Tablet.
