User Interfaces are the texture of this film

Although, I did feel that the bad language did little to advance the plot, The Avengers sequel was pretty awesome. My two kids and I thought it was great.
The stunning technology sequences in this movie were the real star for me. And if there’s an Academy Award for user interface design, then expect to see the team at Territory in tuxedos. Wow.

All systems go.

NOT FOR THE OFFICE! : Conan the Barbarian movie review

May 2, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 4 Comments

Conan the Barbarian

In my opinion Conan the Barbarian (1982) is one of the best movies ever made. What’s that – you laugh?
With the release of the new trailer of the 3D remake, I can’t help but to say:

“Why Hollywood? Have you run outta ideas? Every TV show and successful movie under the sun has been redone with mediocre effort. *And just a side note – In two years, 3D cinema will be about as cool as “rollerblades”. You don’t have to do them all in 3D. Take it back a notch.”

The original Conan is a cult gem. One that should be revisited not remade.

Based on the genius of Frank Franzetta‘s artwork, the character of Conan is brought to life by Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime.
The screenplay was written by Oliver Stone and produced by Dino De Laurentiis. Not so funny anymore is it?

36 Year old “bhilmers” created this wonderful adaptation of the opening credits for Star Wars – A new hope. The most interesting twist is that he re-imagined it through the eyes of Saul Bass (1920-1996).

A really great homage to one of the world’s greatest graphic designers. We love it when genres clash.

“If Star Wars was filmed two decades earlier and Saul Bass did the opening title sequence, it might look like this. This was a school project. The song is “Machine” by the Buddy Rich Band off the album Big Swing Face (1967)”

Founded in 1997, The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is a specialty cinema located in Austin, Texas that serves ice-cold beer and shows white-hot “movie-movies”. The Alamo is distinguished by its cult-friendly programming, which includes retrospectives like “Burt-A-Thon” (a night of popular Burt Reynolds movies) numerous signature events and frequent guest appearance from the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Fred Savage.
Check out these terrific movie posters.
