Coffee Talk T-shirt by David Olenick for Threadless

What is thy bidding master?

The coffee bean has long ruled the business world from behind the scenes. Beware it’s caffeinated grasp. See more at Threadless.

COFFEE TALK Design by David Olenick for Threadless

About the artist

David Olenick’s art is inspired by anxiety, embarrassment, character flaws, and profanity. He lives in New York City and comes up with most of his ideas in bars or restaurants, where he’s funnier with the help of a drink or two. He enjoys haunting the city’s museums, avoiding carbs, and going around telling people that simple designs are actually the hardest kind to create.

Bombay Sapphire Self-Illuminating Package by Yehrin Tong

The packaging features a vector illustration by Yehrin Tong that has been produced in electroluminescent ink. The animated effect is created with the help of an electric current from a small battery at the bottom of the pack and a hidden mechanical switch is triggered when the packaging is picked up from the shelf. And Voila! –
Let there be light.
Webb deVlam has created packaging for gin brand Bombay Sapphire that illuminates when the box is lifted off of the shelves. Absolutely brilliant (pardon the pun, but it’s appropriate here).

Beer Packaging – Corona Extra Limited Edition by Shikatani Lacroix

June 3, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 3 Comments

Toronto, Ontario –
Corona has always been a “brand with one foot in the sand” (I just made that up). Toronto design studio Shikatani Lacroix has done an excellent job creating 9 limited edition bottles that capture that spirit with colourful vector illustrations.

Corona Extra Limited Edition

“Now that’s a wrap! To promote Corona Extra’s spring campaign, Find your beach, Modelo Molson Imports commissioned Shikatani Lacroix to create nine Collector’s Edition bottle designs, each one a collage of relaxation related imagery such as mountains, lakes, beaches and cottage country.
The objective of the campaign is to help consumers find their happy place, wherever and whatever that may be. The designs reflect Corona’s personality as an approachable, confident, smart, timeless, easy going and fun loving premium quality brand.
The colourful images are shrink wrapped on the glass bottles. Since the neck of the bottle is all that is visible in the 6-pack carrier, creative design elements were added to the carrier and to the neck of the bottles to help add excitement and interest.
The packaging design has been so well received it has already won a 2011 PAC Packaging Competition Award.”

Vector Packaging Design – Issey Miyake Evian Water Bottle

September 22, 2010 by Adam Jarvis Leave a Comment

evian issey miyake water bottle
Issey Miyake is a designer who is known for pushing the limits. His accomplishments as a fashion designer and visual artist are well documented.
This is his take on the Evian water bottle. It’s bright and cheerful and marketable. And judging by the website, the brand has put a significant investment behind promoting it.
Personally, I like it. It’s worthy of sticking a flower into it.

After previously having worked with Jean-Paul Gaultier, Paul Smith and other high fashion designers, French water brand Evian has now gotten together with Japanese designer Issey Miyake. Check out the video clips and images, showcasing the design and design process of the bottle.

One of the most popular beverages in the world is Sake. Sake brewer SHOTOKU SHUZO has taken it’s packaging in a beautiful direction in hopes of catching the eyes of female consumers. These decorative capsules will most certainly have a life beyond just a night cap.
