Your Imagination is the Combination
This year, I went low tech with the Christmas presents. In addition to a gift card, I put together these portraits of our (and by “our”, I mean “their”) family dogs. My niece and nephews inspired me to pick up a paintbrush and capture the personalities of these extremely cool pups. They are great owners and take very good care of them. I’m proud of them. They have show some mature responsibility.

My wife bought me some wood panel canvases that have been sitting in my studio all week. Last night, this image popped into my head and I could not shake it loose. So today, I pealed myself off of my computer and decided to make it a thing.

The packaging features a vector illustration by Yehrin Tong that has been produced in electroluminescent ink. The animated effect is created with the help of an electric current from a small battery at the bottom of the pack and a hidden mechanical switch is triggered when the packaging is picked up from the shelf. And Voila! –

Webb deVlam has created packaging for gin brand Bombay Sapphire that illuminates when the box is lifted off of the shelves. Absolutely brilliant (pardon the pun, but it’s appropriate here).
