Beer Packaging Design – Cervecería Sagrada

September 27, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 1 Comment

Mexico,
Design heavyweight José Guízar knows how to take beer packaging design all the way to the top turnbuckle.
This stunning execution is enough to turn a few heads at the bar with their mysteriously-dangerous face mask labels. And like the sport itself – I don’t care if this beer is fake. As a designer, it’s more important to me that it entertains.
This beer has my shoulders pinned even before my lips touch the bottle. An Intercontinental Champion of Packaging Design.

“The whole concept behind the brand and packaging is inspired by the golden era of lucha in the 1950’s, when movie heroes were not Superman or the X-Men — but El Santo and his wingmen, who fought creepy monsters driving a silver ’52 Alfa Romeo with surf music on the background. The variety of styles are named after fictional characters also inspired by the vintage lucha style; “Black King” Imperial Stout, “Blond Gomez” Lager and “The Vampire’s Son” Red Ale.”

Johnnie Walker Shanghai packaging

June 23, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 1 Comment

In LOVE’s first project for Diageo Asia, the Manchester-based agency worked with interior designers, Asylum, on the look of the Johnnie Walker House which is set to open in Shanghai. The four story house will be used to market Scottish whisky to Chinese consumers and tell the story of the brand’s history through interactive installation made from materials used in the whisky-making process.

Beer Packaging – Corona Extra Limited Edition by Shikatani Lacroix

June 3, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 3 Comments

Toronto, Ontario –
Corona has always been a “brand with one foot in the sand” (I just made that up). Toronto design studio Shikatani Lacroix has done an excellent job creating 9 limited edition bottles that capture that spirit with colourful vector illustrations.

Corona Extra Limited Edition

“Now that’s a wrap! To promote Corona Extra’s spring campaign, Find your beach, Modelo Molson Imports commissioned Shikatani Lacroix to create nine Collector’s Edition bottle designs, each one a collage of relaxation related imagery such as mountains, lakes, beaches and cottage country.
The objective of the campaign is to help consumers find their happy place, wherever and whatever that may be. The designs reflect Corona’s personality as an approachable, confident, smart, timeless, easy going and fun loving premium quality brand.
The colourful images are shrink wrapped on the glass bottles. Since the neck of the bottle is all that is visible in the 6-pack carrier, creative design elements were added to the carrier and to the neck of the bottles to help add excitement and interest.
The packaging design has been so well received it has already won a 2011 PAC Packaging Competition Award.”

Packaging – Vintage Cereal Collection

May 20, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 2 Comments

Cereal packaging design has but one purpose: To magnetically capture the attention of small children sitting in shopping carts. It usually inspires temper tantrums and the words: “PLEEEEAAAASE! Mom”.
Either way, a great trip down memory lane.
My mom never let me get any of these.

Waste Not Want Not – Eco friendly bag from Lee

March 7, 2011 by Adam Jarvis 1 Comment

Allot of thought has gone into this simple retail bag. It’s more than just a means to carry home a pair of Lee jeans. It also has life well beyond the sale. Creative application and a positive branding message about the company’s environmental stance. Very fun.

“With the relevance of eco-friendly initiatives increasing every day, Lee wanted an innovative solution that would display their affiliation towards the same and also spread the message amongst their customers.
To drive the message home in a fun and effective way, we went for something a bit more inventive than just a bag made of recycled paper. The ‘Never Wasted’ shopping bag that can be reused in one way or another. Some for fun, some for function, but nothing ever goes into the trash. Not only did this make the idea long-lasting and interactive but also conveyed the message in a fascinating manner. Word spread, footfall increased and the initial production of 3000 bags went on to another 10,000.”
