Vector animated cartoon – Wow Wow Wubbzy

My daughter is 3 and a half, and in addition to sitting on daddy’s lap while he punches out Vecorvault posts, she just adores this cute little cartoon called “Wow Wow Wubbzy“.

I’m not ashamed to admit it – this one has kind of grown on me. The animation is great. I love the thick black strokes around the characters and the colors are bright and cheerful. It’s well done.
Although I don’t like the idea of sitting a kid down in front of the television for 4 hours straight, I do from time to time allow her to get a laugh or two. Wubbzy seems to tickle that funny bone. Perhaps it’s the music (think Blink 182 meets Sharon Lois and Bram). If you’ve got kids (or you yourself are immature) check it out.

Each half-hour episode of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! promotes positive values like honesty, tolerance, fairness, and cooperation. Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! is from the producers of Nickelodeon’s wildly popular show The Fairly OddParents, and best of all, it’s abso-hula-lutely hysterically funny!
Our hero–a friendly, cheerful little guy named Wubbzy–loves to play. Whether it’s riding his tooter-scooter, baking a chocolate doodle-berry cake, or playing a game of hippity-hopscotch, Wubbzy just wants to have fun. But sometimes that’s hard to do, like when Wubbzy loses a shoe, when his kickety-kick ball goes flat, or when he’s being chased by a Giant Sillysaurus!
Luckily for Wubbzy, he can rely on his two best pals, Widget and Walden, to help him out of any sticky situation. Walden is a scientist who always tries to think up a solution, and Widget likes to build, so she may come up with a nifty invention–like a Super Suction Cup Bazooka or a Sonar-Radar All-in-One People Detector. Unfortunately, their help can make matters much worse! Each episode takes the friends on a wacky, wonderful, laugh-filled, loopy adventure. In the end, they find the solution and sing a song about what they’ve learned along the way.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Unlike some other shows on Nickelodeon like Rugrats, this show moves at a normal pace where kids can actual understand what’s going on and they’re learning something.
No idea why the plots in kids’ shows these days move so quickly, with non-sequiturs, adult pop culture references that are already overused (i.e., “Ouch, that’s GOT to hurt!”), characters have too much “attitude” yet kids think its so cool, and characters randomly break out in songs where the lyrics have no meaning (just to sell a cd compilation of songs later).
